DANIEL W. KWONG, Chairman of Global Investment and Management Institute Inc.( a global consulting and strategic facilitation company ) and Golden Harvest Holdings, Ltd. (an investment holdings company), is a business entrepreneur and an international business strategist.  His low-keyed networking skill and personal styles has led him to develop those privately-owned companies several years ago and build his unusual career track.

Born in Hong Kong in 1958, he was raised in a non-English speaking family and his parents were immigrants from Mainland China. Like all new-comers in the Pearl of the Orient, his father - Mr. Moon Kwok Kwong and his Mother - Mrs. Fung Ha Leung Kwong, who had just finished   an elementary education, tried very hard to start their own business. First in the shoe industry, then the watch business in which they settled down until their emigration to the United States with their son, Daniel, and daughter Selina, who is at present a local Chinese owned bank manager.

Receiving his bachelor's degree, with a major in political science at California State University in 1982, Dr. Kwong went on to complete several courses in international economics and trade through the renowned and accredited Phoenix, AZ,  based American Graduate School of International Management. He then returned to California to work for a local import/export company and the Law Firm of Latham and Watkins respectively for several years.

He had started reviewing books as a book critics in 1986 for New-York-based Glansville Publishers, Inc. and Law Books In Review until their merger with a publishing house two years ago. Through evaluating so many books covering a wide range of subject matters like Law, Politics, Multinational Businesses, Global Relations, Economics, ASEAN, EEC and other Geopolitical publications, he has developed an in-depth perspectives and wider horizons on these issues. 

From 1989 through 1993, he has completed his non-bar law training at Thomas Jefferson College of Law and acquired his Juris Doctorate degree. In 1994, Dr. Kwong received invitation from La Salle University to... Serve as faculty advisor and Professor of Law & Government. He advises students from all walks of life - some of them are government officials either in USA and overseas; however most of them are established business executives. On the other hand, he is the Editorial and Research Advisor of American Biographical Institute and Appointed Advisor of International Biographical Center in United Kingdom. At times, he receives invitations from Chairman Herbert Hoover III of Hoover Institution in Stanford University to attend its strategic briefings.

In March 1997, he received a letter from the White House to request the submission of his resume for considerations of potential presidential appointments in the Clinton Administration and has been placed in the pool of eligible candidates. In the same moment, Senator Bob Packwood, the former Senate Finance Committee Chairman, extended an invitation to him to serve on his American Business Tax Force as its Honorary Co-Chairman. Prior to that civic appointment, he accepted the Honorary Chairmanship of the US House Speaker Victory Circle for The Honorable Newt Gingrich's reelection. 

In addition to these, Dr. Kwong's Republican activities and honors include Life Memberships in both Republican National Committee and Republican Presidential Task Force where he also serves as National Campaign Advisor. He is an invited Member of Republican Senatorial Inner Circle and Senatorial Trust respectively. As an Honoree of Ronald Reagan Eternal Flame of Freedom, Dr. Kwong received 1994 Republican Presidential Award. In addition, he was a VIP delegate in 1992 Republican National Convention and is a CRP Convention delegate. As a State Central Committee Associate, he has been Advisory Council Member for former California Attorney General Dan
Lungren.  May 8, 2000, he has been officially installed as Co-Founder of Ronald Reagan Republican Center in Washington D.C.

A single parent himself, Dr. Kwong has his 11 year old daughter (born 1989) Cassandra  attending the GATE Program in Alhambra School District and she has just been declared the State Finalist of 2000 American Co-ed Pageant in its "Sweetheart"' Division. Equipped with a forward-looking life style and positive philosophy, he sent his song Cass' Story  to compete for the White Dove Award sponsored by the Gospel Music Academy in Tennessee a couple years ago. That song hopefully would be able to motivate all single parents and has been registered with ASCAP.

By serving on the National Committee on US-CHINA Relations, Dr. Kwong is well recognized in China. He visited Beijing with his daughter from June17 to June27, 1997. Prior to that, he had already been officially greeted by Shenzhen government in January that same year and entertained by the Vice Chairman of its Political Consultative Council with other agencies. In December 1998 Dr. Kwong was invited to co-chair the First Convention for Overseas Chinese on Science and Technology in Guangzhou.

Through various activities, networks and recommendations, Dr. Kwong has earned inclusions in many major biographical reference publications, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in California, Who's Who In Asia and the Pacific Nations, Dictionary of International Biography, Personalities of Chinese Origin (by State Council, China), Who's Who in American Politics, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in American Education, International Who's Who In Music and others.

On February 29, 2000, he transmitted some notes to congressman Lee H. Hamilton prior to his envoy trip to Taiwan right after its presidential election.  A phone interview was conducted by a Chinese newspaper in New York with him.  He has been proud to be one of the contributing members behind the scene.

From Oct. 11 - 17,  2000, he was invited as special guest to attend a high profile international high-tech meeting in China. Expenses  were endorsed by the hosting agencies. Two Chinese heads and the French vice-chancellor held the grand opening and reception.

Afterwards, Dr. Kwong visited Guangdong and Shanghai governments respectively in 2004. In addition to honorary-chair the President's Dinner in Washington, D.C. on May 21, 2003, Dr. Kwong and his daughter were VIP guests for Governor Arnold in California the same year.

He is also a member for the Atlantic Council, American Association of Political Consultants, American League of Lobbyists, President's Council for the Town Hall of Los Angeles, Los Angeles World Affairs Council, Lincoln Club (a Republican PAC) and Hong Kong Association.

A contributing editor for a major political website, Dr. Kwong has been invited to write a greeting insert in honor of the State Visit by the US President on November 19, 2005, by the official China Daily.

Dr. Kwong is currently residing in Southern California with his daughter and mother as his 68 year old father passed away 1998  at Huntington Memorial Hospital.  His family, friends and The Watch Industry will greatly miss that old soldier.
